Every mindless scroll past AI sludge erodes the shared reality that democracy depends on. And unless Filipinos recognize slopaganda for what it is, our next elections may be decided not by debate or persuasion, but by the sheer weight of digital garbage.

For average users, this means it’s inescapable, and either are forced to disconnect, and learn to trust nothing, or are exploited to trust and get validation from your biases without any resistance of friction from what you see online.

In an era where a single AI agent can generate and post hundreds of pieces of content per day, political manipulation may become less about persuasion and more about burying reality under noise.

The economic incentives of platforms only accelerate the problem: algorithmic amplification rewards frequency and engagement, not truth.

Slopaganda like many of its disinformation variants, risks further eroding democratic discourse. It exploits the attention economy to saturate social media with disposable, manipulative content, making it harder for authentic voices to break through.
