I think there is room for both. That being said, because our entire system is built around a 2 party system, I think the only way to change the Dem Party is to get involved and change it (like the Tea Party) people did to Republicans. For example, Democratic Socialists should run as Democrats. My 2c

The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

"We are being tested right now and it is a tactic." They are "rage farming" and "we are the crop."

Resist taking the bait. If we know the above, we can get beyond our emotion and focus on what is happening. Kathleen McEvoy, Senior Policy Fellow, The EveryLibrary Institute

1) Advocacy matters because there is no other way for policymakers to learn about the impact of their actions on the people they represent β€” and you are the people they represent!
2) You cannot assume that someone else will say what YOU believe needs to be said
3) Nobody else has your lived experiences and nobody else can tell your story as well as you can

Some inspiration from the graduate Education Policy class I'm in this semester. When you advocate to legislators, remember to tell a STORY. You don't change minds based on facts. You *may* change minds when they can visualize why a policy is good or bad by connecting with your story. #indivisible

Establishing the President's Make America Healthy Again Commission By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, itΒ isΒ hereby ordered: Section 1.

This commission statement refers to people with Autism, ADHD, asthma, auto-immune disease, and chronic illness as a β€œdire threat to the American people and our way of life”.

This is a manifesto against disability.

This is the language of eugenics.

Books mentioning slavery, civil rights removed from shelves at Fort Campbell schools - ClarksvilleNow.com At an elementary school at Fort Campbell, home of the 101st Airborne Division, librarians are hard at work scrubbing the shelves for books that contain references to slavery, the civil rights movement...

This is where we are now: An elementary school at Fort Campbell has removed all books from its library that so much as *allude* to slavery or the civil rights movement.

The wholesale erasure of history in real time.

Today's front page, and nary a mention of the successful "plutocratic coup" (said by a sitting House member) or "constitutional crisis (said by a sitting Senator) unfolding

When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.

There are literally not enough journalists employed in the US to cover the bad shit that is happening right now. We are now going to experience the social consequences of a weakened news industry--which are the same as the benefits of a weakened news industry, to those who weakened it.
