Group 2 innate lymphoid cells regulate nociceptive and gait functions of the peripheral nervous system
ILC2-neuron cross-talk contributes to the maintenance of nerve structure and function of the peripheral nervous system.
Now in #Science #Immunology: Deshpande, Klose, & al at Charité—Universitätsmedizin Berlin report that #ILC2 resident in #PNS communicate with neurons via #IL13 to maintain #nerve structure & pain thresholds. Mice lacking ILC2 or whose neurons are Il4ra-KO exhibit #hypersensitivity & #gait defects!

Host Proteins Identified in SARS-CoV-2 Replication Pathways Reveal Drug Targets
New research reveals promising drug targets to block coronaviruses at multiple stages of infection—even across different strains.
An siRNA screen performed by scientists at Scripps Research has pinpointed dozens of human proteins that SARS-CoV-2 uses to complete its replication cycle. These findings could open the door to new drugs that target host proteins rather than the virus.
