Not the best performance but irrelevant in the bigger picture. Sampdoria back in decent enough form after another awful start in Serie B. Begic, Cicconi, Pierini and Di Pardo all look good additions.

Sadly it seems to have got much worse since VAR. There were always soft penalties in Italy, going back three or more decades. It's kind of ridiculous now though. There was slight contact on Vergara's ankle so technically it is a penalty I suppose.

Two wins in a row for Sampdoria. A sensible transfer window with players that will actually make a difference in Serie B. Relatively confident there will be no repeat of last season's woeful scramble to survive. Virtually impossible to watch today's game once again.

Scotland's Six Nations over after one game. Such an abysmal performance in every aspect.

Always easier to be critical than positive, but Scotland really disappointing in the first half. Poor line-outs and defence, a lot of possession yet only one try. Great that Italy have improved but Scotland have to be much better than this especially with so many players in good form for Glasgow.

Seems surreal when Sampdoria score a goal never mind actually win a game. Another subpar performance, backwards, sideways and always overcomplicating things. Brilliant goal from Matteo Ricci to win it late on. Samp up to 14th in the table, Lombardo in tears at the end.

Meret excellent as Napoli resisted a Fiorentina comeback in the second half. A rather familiar uneven display from the Partenopei. Batches of dominance, defensive fragility and wasted chances.

Outstanding goal from Miguel Gutiérrez. Another player that should have been given more minutes for Napoli.

Nothing ever straightforward for Napoli. Could easily be out of sight, yet had to rely on two exceptional Meret saves. Di Lorenzo injury looks a bad one. A season blighted by injuries. The squad good enough to win most game though, regardless of who plays.

You really have to wonder why Antonio Vergara wasn't given a chance at Napoli earlier. Injuries played a part of course but clearly a talented player. Shocking Fiorentina defending it has to be said. Really composed finish.

Great to see another Scot in Serie A as Kieron Bowie joins Hellas Verona. He'll need to start scoring immediately to prevent the Gialloblu from dropping down into the second tier.
Plenty of players have moved on to bigger clubs from Verona in the last few years. Often very soon after moving there.

Not sure why I overlooked Handsome Guys 핸섬가이즈 (2024), a barnstorming South Korean remake of the fantastic Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2010).

A wondrous concoction of comedy and horror, which descends into utter bedlam.
