As such, it’s hard not to see this nonsense as an inherently misogynistic impatience with marriage. An expectation that things just work rather than that you have to put in work. A selfish absolution of blame rather than looking to make things work.

You can’t argue a moral crusade that women must return to tradwife values while failing to recognise that, for most families, the double salary is what makes living affordable. Without that, the moral crusade isn’t just wrong, it’s intellectually unsustainable.

It seems baffling to me that anyone would promote rolling back women’s rights not just from a moral perspective but also a practical one.

If you chase women out of the workplace (or limit to menial jobs at best), do men suddenly get double pay to compensate? That’s not how capitalism works.
