Someone who has known that I've been on estrogen for a while thought I did it because I was trans. Kinda crazy because I never told him that I was trans. I just told him I started taking estrogen. Not even my cis friends thought I was cis. Damn.

But it's not really about gender though. More about being seen as someone who is not scary. I find most guys to be scary so I don't want to be seen as scary. It makes sense in my head.

Yes. But there is a simple explanation for this. Guys tend to be seen as more dominant/rude/violent and women are softer/kinder, so being seen as the second is just nicer. Not really a trans thing at all really.
