The Guardian supported Lib Dems in 2010.

And what happened when they got a hold of the Treasury in bed with the Tories?

They imposed austerity and decimated public services.

They think the public have forgotten this.

The main argument against rejoining the EU is that it would "embolden Farage".

Bullshit. It would expose Farage.

It would force him to oppose the majority of voters, remind them that his last "Great Crusader" left us poor and powerless, and force him to admit he wants us to remain that way.

PM speech during the Munich Security Conference: 14 February Prime Minister Keir Starmer gave a speech during the Munich Security Conference.

A superb speech from our Prime Minister.

The world order is changing and Europe must respond.

This should be headline news in the UK for several weeks, if not longer...until we know exactly WHO in the UK was involved in this and we see them brought to account!

No one should bring down a UK government unless they are part of the UK parliament.

No one in the media.

No one from abroad!

Keir Starmer, Peter Mandelson, and the British Media I am not going to sit here and pretend that Keir Starmer is the Messiah.

So, I wrote a Substack. I haven't done so for monetary gain, just as a way to share my thoughts in more detail. I'd appreciate any feedback, as this is my first attempt at a thinkpiece.

A couple of excerpts of Starmerโ€™s speech to the PLP today (1/2):

โ€œAfter having fought so hard for the chance to change our country, Iโ€™m not prepared to walk away from my mandate and my responsibility to my country, or to plunge us into chaos as others have done.โ€

Labour Governments arenโ€™t about self-service, theyโ€™re about public service โ€” and this PM embodies public service.

Thats why heโ€™s got a 5-year mandate and my full support. Letโ€™s get on with the job.

09.02.2026 17:19 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 190    ๐Ÿ” 45    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 13    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The country is rightly impatient for change and for government that serves their interests above all else.

Our job is simple: stay focused, get on with the hard work of delivering instead of looking inwardly at ourselves and remember the people who we serve.

Itโ€™s treacherous and Iโ€™m ragingโ€ฆagain. Our CLP secretary is such a lovely man and has given his life to the party, so his response got me thinking. Will probably stay a member, but not support in any way in the upcoming Holyrood elections, as I do still support our Westminster MP.

Last week, we voted to lift 450,000 children out of poverty and selected 500 schools to get free breakfast clubs.

That's the change we should be focused on, that's the change voters want, and it's only possible because Keir Starmer secured a five year mandate.

He must see it through.

I heard @mrjamesob.bsky.social say it is likely Keir Starmer will have to go because of "critical mass"

Whilst also admitting that Johnson should have gone over the wallpaper, the parties, the Russian connections, Owen Paterson, the covid violations, lying to Parliament, lying to the Queen.
