These are the images that define the Labour government. An elderly clergywoman arrested for holding a cardboard sign simply because the government wants to be seen as being 'strong'. Strength comes in many forms. Moral strength is something we should expect from a supposed socialist party. Not this.

The Israeli government long since ceased being a friend to the Jewish people. Fascist Nazi sympathisers like Yaxley-Lennon never have been. He uses support for Judaism simply as a mechanism for demonising Muslims. So I can see why he'd be welcomed by a fellow right wing racist extremist.

She's right. Because it will never happen. This is just another dog whistle policy statement that hasn't been thought about beyond the level of a PR stunt intended to throw a bit more red meat into the Reform bear pit.

So we have to wonder why the Lib Dems have so many more MPs than us then. Maybe the really important metric is how many active supporters both parties have including members and non-members.

Still heavy on dairy though which means livestock farming stays firmly in the mix. Not only is that bad for the planet, in many ways dairy consumption can be just as bad (or worse) than eating meat.

These are coherent policies which will benifit the vast majority of people. This is the way we improve all our lives through positive action rather than through paranoia, hatred and 'othering' of migrants.

As seems to be their new approach, Labour councillors and MPs contiune to try to face both ways at once. Politics means we have to make a choice. It seems that Ms Dodds and Labour Councillors are choosing to favour private car use over safer, less congested streets and better public transport.

Reform branded βthreat to democracyβ over Farage plan to remove thousands of migrants with leave to be in UK β politics live
Nigel Farage says Reform UK would scrap the main route that migrants take to gain British citizenship
Good morning. Last month Reform UK unveiled its βOperation Restoring Justiceβ plan for the mass deportation of people living in Britain without permission to be here. It was aimed at illegal immigrants, but Nigel Farage, the Reform leader, proposed deportation on an unprecedented scale , without being clear as to quite how many people would be affected. Today he is committing Reform (which is currently well ahead of other parties in national opinion polls) to an even more draconian approach. He says Reform would abolish indefinite leave to remain β the immigration status that allows people to remain in the UK for as long as they want, often the first step towards citizenship.
Crucially, this would not just be for new applicants; it would be retrospective, applying to people who already have indefinite leave to remain. Instead, people would have to apply for a five-year visa, with tougher conditions.
Today, I can announce that Reform will go even further.
We will abolish indefinite leave to remain (ILR) status, which grants migrants the right to live, work and study in the UK permanently with full access to Britainβs health and benefits system.
These changes will lead to hundreds of thousands of people having to apply and ultimately losing their settled status in the UK, which will be done on a staggered and orderly basis to allow businesses to train British workers to replace them. Many of those who will lose their leave to remain are entirely dependent on the welfare state and will leave voluntarily upon losing access to benefits. Those that donβt will be subject to immigration enforcement as part of our mass deportation programme β Operation Restoring Justice. Continue reading...
