#writers #queerwriters how do you deal with rejection? I know I’m not supposed to take it personally but it’s hard not to. they say there’s all sorts of factors involved but at the end of the day if the story was actually good it wouldn’t matter. how do I not feel so worthless?

Generally just never know what to post on here but I finished a story and have been working on a couple other ones, not sure if they’re actually good ideas though

One is a little experimental and hard to pin down genre wise, the other is just a magical girl riff

I’m gonna do four of the short fiction books I’ve had laying around in a row

I haven’t talked about my reading or really anything on here lately, in part because I’ve just been reading a lot of mid stuff aside from some nonfiction, but I did just start John Langan’s Sefira and Other Betrayals which is exciting

OH and I finished all of the Cyteen books finally they were a lot of fun, hoping to check out more Cherryh relatively soon

so now I’m going to start Them by Joyce Carol Oates, who I’ve never read before (though I’ve seen Sweet Talk, based on 1 of her short stories). I basically chose this at random but I’m excited to see what’s up

I just finished Naomi Novik’s Spinning Silver, which was very beautiful. Very “being told a story as you drift off to sleep warm and safe” vibe, which was nice for a change
