The “no tax on tips” part of the GOP bill is a total joke. It only applies to $25,000, is only for voluntary tips, isn’t received until you file taxes, only explicitly lists food service and beauticians for who gets the deduction, excludes married people filing separately, and expires in 2028.

I'll quote from Larry DiCara's newsletter from this morning: "Civic life does not fall from the sky. It requires that people step up and run for public office."

Just a really sad and frustrating day. This vote will lead to a great deal of suffering. Unnecessary suffering among the most vulnerable Americans.

Last week, Stephen Lynch voted in favor of a horrible anti-immigrant bill led by Marjorie Taylor Greene. This comes after he voted for the Laken Riley Act and to thank ICE for "protecting the homeland." We need to retire Stephen Lynch next fall.
