You can still pick between a speed oriented or acceleration oriented stats engine. Then your character and kart can be whatever you want! It's a win win.

One thing I wish Mario Kart would do is what Crash Nitro Fueled did in regards to stats.

Make the character + kart purely cosmetic, then the player picks whatever optimal "engine". Every race being filled with 20 baby bloopers is dull.

Started tinkering with a few synths to make menu SFX and I'm convinced Sound people are wizards.

"Yeah just set the wibbly wobbly line and turn up the skidoodle modulator with a dash of reverb and boom its the cancel sound from Silent Hill 2"
