Day 3: MC travels forward frequently, even when he's actually trying to travel backward, as transportation in the 23rd century is easier and more convenient than in most other eras. He also does a fair bit of exploration and time tourism.

Switching projects as motivation for my launch goal.
Seven Year Boots is about a man who traverses the timeline in 7-year increments. In so doing, he rescues a woman stranded in the future and uncovers a vast temporal conspiracy. Coming this Thanksgiving! I hope!

A few months ago, I started work on a serial fiction story, which then fell by the wayside. The first installment has a very narrow window in which it can be published, and it's rapidly approaching. So my current writing goal is to be ready to launch by the end of the month. I'm nervous, but excited

Day 27: I'll admit, time travel was fun when I was in control. Explore eras, past and future - who wouldn't love that? Some of the tech gives me awful headaches, though. And the disorientation of bouncing around indiscriminately... I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy

Day 23: There's a corporation called Morrigan Industries, run by generations of time travelers, which has been controlling history for 300 years. I'm not supposed to know about them. Nobody is. But when you see the name spanning across eras, you start to put things together

Day 21: If I got to write the story, it would be about how Gray Merrick had a very nice, boring life and did not travel through time. I suppose that wouldn't sell, though, so I guess I'd write an epic rescue, before the desperation and loneliness start to set in.

Day 19: I got to record the first ever audio recording, on phonautograph with Edouard-Leon Scott de Martinville in 1857! I'm told the recording has since been lost to time, but still, it was a pretty epic moment.

Catching up, Day 17: Always be ready to roll with the punches. You never know when this adventure will end and the next one will begin. You also never know when you might have to run from a robot or a dinosaur.

I mean, there's a legitimate, "time travel emergency" reason for it, but I'd be lying if I said there wasn't also a bit of ego involved.

Day 15: "Gray, I’m giving you a lot of leeway here. Much more than I normally give my writers... I didn’t even say anything when you wanted to name the main character after yourself, even though I thought it was pretentious."

Day 13: Most of the people I encounter across time think I'm nuts. I had thought that Dr. Flynn thought well of me, respected me, had my back. But the longer I go on without anyone coming to rescue me, the less sure I am of any of it.

Day 11: I tried to write some foreign phrases into a radio script in the 1930s. The producer was worried about my motives, but ultimately understanding. The real problem was getting the actors to pronounce the phrases correctly.

Day 9: I have great respect for my mentor, Dr. Albert Flynn, inventor of time travel and founder of the Temporal Institute. But right now, I think my favorite person is whoever has been leaving me messages at different points across the timeline about possible rescue.

Day 7: Odd is relative when you're jumping around the timeline, but in one era, there was a hologram who knew my name and tried to sell me a weekend at an ultra-luxury resort. The advertising in that era integrated directly with your brain, which was disconcerting.

Day 5: I had hoped I might be the main character, but as the story progresses it seems I'm less and less so. But my plight is the driving force for the MC (I'm not sure if I've met her or not; she seems vaguely familiar) as well as for the villains, who want to stop us both. -Gray

New month of #TimeTravelAuthors prompts. Since Steve has been slacking, I'm taking over. I'm Grey Merrick, of the Temporal Institute. I've been field testing their new time travel technology, but something has gone wrong. Now I'm being catapulted from era to era completely at random. A Time Jumper.

Ooh, this sounds like fun! I've been meaning to jump back into the prompts... Seems like a good time to do it!
