This was such a nice closing evening. The room was cold, the sky was dark and the ambiance... moody. The candles brought some warmth into the walls of this abandoned house in Berlin. A perfect scenario for the incredible sound landscape my friend Mei composed for this collaborative installation.

It took me months of procrastinating but finally I moved over to self hosted services. I've just installed Proxmox on a mini Intel N150 PC at home and deployed instances with Immich, nextcloud and Coolify accessible via cloudflare tunnel and my tailnet. Any recommendations for apps or setups?

I spend the day under the rain and in the mud mid-nowhere in Sichuan. But it was totally worth it

One of the reasons for traveling back to Chengdu this Spring Festival, was to finally have this dreamed photoshoot with the amazing Lixiang

Then I protected the patterns on the wall, carefully checking the scale and I traced them on paper.

Initially I did a simulation to test different designs and I generated patterns using @blender.org
The plan was to achieve an inflatable isolation chamber that deploys around the audience without having to open and close a gate for people to come inside.

The construction of the installation has been carried out using only plastic waste materials, such as bags and food packaging wrapping films. The isolation chamber has been built by melting the plastics together, omitting the use of adhesive tape or glue. Electronics were repurposed from other works

It draws correlative lines between climate change, the covid pandemic, and its long-term health consequences. The isolation chamber invites its guests to self-reflect and to raise awareness about climate problems by comparing it to a crisis from which we are already experiencing its consequences.

I can rant for hours about megalomaniac narcissistic tech oligarchs, but it's about time to stop being pessimistic and leave this spiraling down loop.

Let's see how this transition shapes up, where people go, and where I find my space.

It pains me to recognize that I have betrayed my own principles by engaging in a game I initially never wanted to play.

In light of the events of the past months, I've decided it's time to take a step I should have taken a long, long time ago.

The more I try challenging the system, the more I directly support its evil actors. This amoral entity profits by monetacing attention by the exploitation of hate and fear, the polarization of ideologies, dehumanization, hypocrisy, selected censorship as weapon against minorities, and gaslighting.

I find myself caught in the endless act of doom scrolling, swiping between live broadcasted horror and brainrot content.

While playing the ‘rebellion’ and amplifying voices that mattered, I felt a great deal of frustration.

I must admit that in recent months, the pulling forces of fear and frustration have drawn me into the vortex of mainstream social media platforms. Consumed by a self-imposed narrative, unable to look away, much like light can't escape the gravitational pull of a black hole.
