I think when prioritizing variables where possible, we tend to reduce overhead, avoid redundant re-renders, and keep the app abit easier to debug and scale.

Having to keep track of so many variables is a no.

Fair point.. I mean state is great, and unavoidable at times, especially from a reactivity and user interactions standpoint. But I think a state first approach can lead to over engineering at times, unnecessary complexity, some pesky perf issues at times, etc.
