She could’ve run the most excellent, most perfect campaign in the history of the world, done all the things that commentators blaming her for not doing, and the vast majority of Republicans would have remained unmoved. Meanwhile many of the undecideds were just not paying attention.

This suggests that nothing Kamala Harris, her campaign, or her supporters could have done would have made a difference.

Some of those “undecideds” showed themselves to be extremely low information voters. Apparently a significant number had missed the fact that Biden was no longer the candidate, and were googling this on Election Day.

Having the fate of the nation depend on the tiny fraction called the “undecideds” in the swing states is a troubling result of the electoral college system.

So it really just comes down to a numbers game for the vast majority of Americans. Very few minds are changed by the messaging of a campaign

Similarity with politics, voters have their “team” their party which they will support to the end, no matter how good or bad it is.

It’s fascinating how Americans bring the energy of team sports to politics. Support for *your* football team is unwavering no matter how badly or how well the team plays.
