Panic at the bookshelf

I created book bingo's for myself. Once I got 5 in a row I am allowed to buy a new book. And it sure does boost my motivation to read, mostly because I want to get 5 in a row. The book buying is just a nice bonus. #BookSky

So I basically got no reading done these past few days. I didn't finish my book at all. That's what happens when your body has pain now and then. #BookSky

I just started a book of 357 pages and I want to challenge myself to finish it by the end of the week. Once I start reading it goes rather fast, but I am always having a hard time to actually pick up a book so I hope this challenge will help me focus #BookSky

The post was taken down, but I am still blocked. So no, this person is not trying to educate herself. Otherwise you'd warn your followers and not block those who give you the information on a silver plate.

This right here is the opposite of taking accountability and stepping up your game. Claiming you are here to make people laugh while you just promoted someone harming many people is peek irony.

I am so done with people blocking whoever calls them out for promoting a problematic author. The excuse of not knowing doesn't count. Someone just told you so now you do know. To give you an example, someone just blocked me after I called her in on promoting a racist, zionist and queerphobic author

Instead they are joining a long line of people and companies leaving trans people in the dark.

Fox and Wit is actively silencing queer and marginalised voices which they claimed were something they wanted to uplift. Clearly only when it suits them. This is a typical case of using diversity to gain more money. If they wanted to be a safe space they would have acted as such.

On top of that multiple comments speaking up on the harm being done have been reported causing IG to warn those pages for disrespecting some community guidelines. Fox and Wit has posted pro-trans posts in the past, but it is now clear how trans people have been used as a token and cute aesthetic.

It's been 4 days and Fox and Wit has said nothing on the situation. They are reacting to other comments in the post, made more posts and even apologised on their stories for a mistake they made with another post. Multiple people reached out but no DM's have been opened.

What's worse is how a lot of people commented on the post promoting said book by calling Fox and Wit in for harming trans people by doing this. Multiple comments were suddenly gone and I have heard of one person who was blocked by Fox and Wit after speaking up.

I am hereby officially boycotting Fox and Wit. They claim they stand for queer and marginalised voices, but one of their book boxes will contain a book based on a Harry Potter fanfic. The author is even happily making comments with HP stuff and so on.

When you claim you have the right to say what you want because of freedom of speech I can tell you misunderstood said right and also don't know a thing about the human rights because you are ignoring all the others. If anything, you are looking for an excuse to oppress other people.

Freedom of speech is not the same as freedom to insult everybody you want. Freedom of speech is a human right that comes along with other human rights, such as everyone has the right to live. You can't use one human right without ignoring the others.
