I just had to look at the girlfriend's account and see several posts warning that this person's account had been stolen and showing screenshots of the scam step by step that they were trying to pull on me xD

The Twitter scammer was more convincing because he was a mutual friend whose account had been stolen, but the scammer wasn't very smart. It seems that the user whose account was stolen had a girlfriend and her @ was in the user's bio

If you notice, he never shares the username or posts of the person impersonating me, nor does he tell me what these alleged illegalities are that are being committed. He leaves everything very vague, when the most useful thing would be to be clear and specific from the outset

If you receive a DM like this or something very similar, don't fall for it. It's most likely a scam to steal your account. I saw something very similar on Twitter
