02.02.2025 14:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A week ago I was being told to apologize for saying Trump would be worse for Gaza because he faked a temporary pause/pretend ceasefire to coincide with his inauguration.
Now heβs just openly endorsing/encouraging ethnic cleansing.
11/ I guess Iβll close by saying that maybe it wasnβt Jeff who made that donation all those years ago. Based on past behavior, itβs most likely his former wife MacKenzie who did that.
In this house, we stan MacKenzie Scott. Hopefully women can help lead us out of this mess. Lord knows men wonβt.
10/ I can no longer tell people that I worked for Amazon and truly say it with pride.
Evan and I have cancelled our Prime membership and are pulling away from shopping with Amazon as that membership ends. I hope that Amazon realizes their mistake and reverses course, but I wonβt hold my breath.
9/ Amazon had so many programs like this for years. I was part of that group a decade ago. It felt awkward to do, but I threw away my Glamazon shirts. I still fully support the group, but I wonβt do anything to support Amazon moving forward. And that stings a little. Why change now?
25.01.2025 02:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 08/ To watch a man who once donated huge sums of money to marriage equality not speak up now that Amazon is scrapping its DEI initiatives - programs that I once enjoyed being a part of - was disheartening. After I came out, I was proudly a member of Glamazon, their LGBT affinity group.
25.01.2025 02:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 07/ Jeff has always been a little kooky, and seemed to be getting more out-there as his mountain of money continued to grow. But I didnβt have any reason to dislike the man, really. He was just your average run-of-the-mill zillionaire.
But I feel like Iβve gotten whiplash over these past few weeks.
6/ I tried to not let that skew my opinion of the company. I could eventually get things fixed, even if it meant calling or chatting in multiple times until I found someone who knew what they were doing.
Iβm not trying to speak badly about outsourcing jobs, but I do think itβs affected quality.
5/ I eventually left Amazon - on good terms. I got a job that I knew was a much better long-term fit. There was no bad blood. I was still a loyal customer with a Prime membership.
In the years after I left the company, my interactions with Customer Service kept changing, and not for the better.
4/ I moved to middle management in the company and was honestly proud of the work we were doing at the time. This is from a time when Amazon still valued being voted the Best Customer Experience.
The people I worked with were good at their jobs. We legitimately wanted to fix each customerβs issue.
3/ I was strangely proud that Jeff was donating to a cause that was so close to my heart, even if I didnβt have the courage to publicly say it to most people at the time.
Even though it wasnβt his intention, I was a fan of Jeff from that point on. Iβve been an avid Amazon customer for a LONG time.
2/ I worked the earliest shift offered. When you showed up before 7am, the first hours of the day were slow. You could browse the web and read news between calls. I came across a story about our then-CEO donating to the cause of marriage equality. I was still mostly in the closet at the time.

Just after Memorial Day Weekend, I started working in Customer Service for Amazon. Iβd had a few jobs before, but this was different. It felt like my first real job, even if I was only a front line worker.

So many social media apps were started as a way to build community, and the corporate overlords are wrecking them one by one.
