Had a lovely afternoon in the Bungalow Bar, Paisley, watching God of Carnage,performed by Burn the Cork Theatre. A good modern farce, centred on 2 pretentious couples, discussing an act of violence between their sons, which descends into chaos as their arguments get more detached from reality.

Had a lovely evening at Starlight Studios in Paisley, watching my son and friends re-uniting for a cabaret, before he goes to Leicester to complete his dance degree. This was such a talented cohort of singers, and they were all in magnificent voice.

Saw a version of this at the Pavilion in Glasgow earlier this year. Johnny McKnight is great in this.

Had a lovely evening watching Scotness Films 48 hour film entries and short skits. Good to catch up with everyone.

Thanks to @theurbanhistorian.bsky.social for an interesting talk on the origins of Paisley tonight.

Another afternoon in Edinburgh. Met some friends and watched my son in his final performance with YDance Scotland. Then down to Scottish Storytelling Centre to see Morna Burdon, The Sound of My Own Voice.
Worth catching if you get a chance.

In Edinburgh for a few shows @dancebase.bsky.social . Earlier saw Evolution by YDance . Three interesting and enjoyable pieces. On until Sunday. My son is in this and really enjoying it.

This is why we need politicians and the media to have an honest conversation about tax, especially tjose on the left who need to articulate the case for a fairer distribution more articulately.

Didn't hear them myself, I was up in the gods. I recently retired from Clydesdale Bank, where he got 'The shred' nickname and wife former RBS staff. Interesting from both a personal and historical perspective.

I thought it was a really good production. I also wonder how many like myself had the added element of having worked in the industry (in my case at Clydesdale Bank, where FG was CEO). Thought it was very convincing and the satire really hit the mark. Lessons still don't appear to have learned.

Enjoyable lunchtime concert at Govan Old Church, as part of Glasgow Barons' Early Music Festival. Benjamin Shute gave an excellent solo violin performance.
