There's a new Pentecost & Parker short story available on my website! Ten minutes; 40 suspects; one corpse face-up on the 2 train. Lillian Pentecost puts Will to the test to solve a killing on the Seventh Avenue Express. Sign up for my newsletter to get the code.
24.09.2025 18:36 β π 8 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0DEAD IN THE FRAME is included in People's list of mystery novels with unexpected young/old protagonist pairings. They file everything under "Boomers and Gen Z form unlikely partnerships" and Boomers are still babies in the world of Pentecost & Parker, but I'll take it.

Somehow I made it on a very short list that incudes Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler. Also Sara Gran's Claire DeWitt series, which I love and want more of please.

25.02.2025 00:20 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I very much hope so. Thereβs no date for a sixth book at the moment. But in the meantime Iβll be adding the occasional P&P short story to my website

19.02.2025 14:10 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Attention NYC Pentecost and Parker fans!
15.02.2025 13:42 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hey NYC friends! Iβll have a free evening in the city in a couple weeks. Iβd like to catch a show when Iβm there. Any theatre you recommend?
14.02.2025 22:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Both are historical mysteries with queer protagonists. Katharine Schellman's Nightingale is 1920s NYC. Lev's series is 1950s S.F.
11.02.2025 17:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That is a great question! Once I'm past the flurry of book release obligations, I'll have to put together an extensive list. At the top would have to be Lev Rosen's Evander Mills series, which starts w/ Lavender House. And I just finished Last Call at the Nightingale, which def makes the list

10.02.2025 01:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hey, look at that! DEAD IN THE FRAME is featured in today's New York Times.

I'll take it.

My audiobook narrator Kirsten Potter is just superb.
And I'm glad you care about Val. If things go as plotted, we'll be seeing him again.
In the meantime, I'll be working on some Pentecost & Parker short stories I'll be making available for free online. The first is up now

Thank you so so much!!!
I'd tell you not to be so inpatient but I'd be a hypocrite.
Book six is planned and plotted but not contracted. The joys of publishing. Which means there will be a longer gap between novels than usual. Hopefully not terribly long, though.
Thank you to @playwrightsteve.bsky.social, Katharine Schellman, and everyone who attended the release party of DEAD IN THE FRAME last night. There was a great discussion and lots of laughter. Couldn't make it to the event? We've still got signed copies of Stephen's books on our shelves today.
05.02.2025 16:03 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0New pull quote just dropped
