They examined structure formation in twisted thin-walled tubes (imagine your regular toothpaste tube!), demonstrating that pre-creased, crimped tubes exhibit ribbon-like behavior in both geometry and mechanics.

Mehran Kardar, Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Lars Onsager Prize (with DCMP) For ground-breaking contributions to statistical physics, including the Kardar-Parisi-Zhang equation, Casimir forces, active matter, and aspects of biological physics.

Heinrich M. Jaeger, UChicago - Leo P. Kadanoff Prize for precise experimental contributions that have reshaped our understanding of many soft-matter systems, including granular materials and concentrated suspensions, their structure and rheology, and applications such as robotic grippers.

Congratulations to the winners of the 2025 APS awards (see below)! 🎉 The Kadanoff and Onsager prize winners will present invited talks at the 2026 Global Physics Summit in Denver and all honorees will be recognized at the DSNP business meeting and reception. All are welcome to this celebration.
