I am always told I have a โ€œlovelyโ€ BMI when I am in fact flagged as underweight each and every time; the system would rather ye were underweight and stayed there because BMI says so!!

This is almost as good as our health systemโ€™s ridiculous and pathetic obsession with BMI as an indicator of a healthy weight

Eating classic packed UK high street sandwiches and wraps at your work desk every day will affect your waistband more than a night out at a nice restaurant; enjoy the night out and go mad with a wee dessert

Portion sizes at restaurants (which many people go to for A TREAT) are not causing obesity. Day and daily eating habits combined with increasing costs of fresh produce are a factor.

This has me seething b/c if adopted a) it would link to disordered eating and eating disorders; b) would see women paying the same for a smaller portion; and c) seemingly forgets the fact that women need calories, everyone needs calories, we all need energy

New UK child poverty strategy launches with talk of welfare reform Pat McFadden, the work and pensions secretary, said the government was not โ€˜backing awayโ€™ from benefits changes The UK welfare system is not helping enough people into work and has significantly rising costs, and no one should think the government is backing away from reforming it, the work and pensions secretary has said. Thinking about how, during the recent networking session of the advanced legal programme I am participating in, we had to recommend films - I recommended The Descent and waxed lyrical about its amazing, haunting psychology.

My colleagues selected Disney films, or Wicked.

More than half of new articles on the internet are being written by AI โ€“ is human writing headed for extinction? As AI floods the internet with text, it could mean human voices will matter more โ€“ not less.

When most online content comes from AI, human writing might become more valuable, not less. A researcher who studies #AI explores what gets lost when writers rely too heavily on language models to do their thinking. buff.ly/dACqbK3

Mother and baby home records held in database โ€˜not fit for purposeโ€™ Tusla warned Government that system would require โ€˜significantโ€™ redevelopment to ensure preservation

Further evidence of the lack of seriousness and rigor with which the state has treated archives and non-recent records. We have access to all of the large tech companies on this island, the lack of support, political will and budget for modern solutions is absurd. www.irishtimes.com/politics/202...
