This week I am thankful to announce that I got the opportunity to sit down and talk with Ruba Marshood, the CEO of Indy Reads.
If you do not know Ruba, she is compassionate and kind, and she is fiercely dedicated to the Indy Reads vision of "100% Literacy For All."
I hope you'll take time to listen

The Urban Time in Indianapolis is so much more than a newspaper. Itโs a way of telling the collective story of downtown Indianapolis.
Bill Brooks has been running the publication for over 30 years. Excited to share our conversation with you.

@williamhazen.bsky.social rave review from me madre.

20.07.2025 22:08 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Since you told me this on the pod, I can't stop thinking about it. If we bounded Indianapolis within these borders and built denser, built urban, built for transit, imagine the powerhouse this city would be.
17.07.2025 14:12 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0@williamhazen.bsky.social talks about how Indianapolis empowers people.
This is a common through-line on my podcast. In Indianapolis, you can have an outsized effect for being only an individual or small group.

I normally only post extra clips on Instagram, but @williamhazen.bsky.social is only here!
Here's 1.5 minutes of the benefits of transit straight from the dome, I guarantee there's even more beyond!
Loved talking to Will on this pod cuz I love BUSES, baby!

Render of Football field to be constructed on the site
Hooo boy- this is incredibly concerning. It appears the Central Indiana Land Trust donated this sensitive wetland along Bellโs Creek at 42nd and Mitthoefer to Phalen (a charter school), who is now planning to build their football stadium on top of it.

As a kid, the bus gave me friends, freedom, and stress relief. Now I ride IndyGo buses 3x a week, and get a lot of the same feelings.
Thatโs why it was an honor to chat with @williamhazen.bsky.social, a third-gen transit operator here in Indy.

As GDC talk applications have opened, I want to politely remind you that GDC remains one of the most inaccessible, unfairly expensive, and dangerous for-profit game industry events out there - and that offering your labour for free to it just adds value that pressures people into going needlessly.
08.07.2025 00:43 โ ๐ 1139 ๐ 244 ๐ฌ 21 ๐ 20I am still figuring out logistics (and Rami has kindly offered to help a lil!), but Iโve been putting together a means for game devs to present GDC-style โtalksโ on @playwatchlisten.bsky.social. When itโs public, devs will be able to submit a topic for consideration, and will be paid for their time!

What is the difference between these two metrics? It feels like one must be wrong, but I'm also likely misunderstanding.
@jaytholen.net just wanna say I'm really bummed about Dreamsettler but support you in your decision!

Also the side project is peak - I used to have an RSS feed tool in college that I looked at every day and it shut down and I never used RSS feeds again basically. I don't remember the name, but I loved it.
