After applying a black wash to the surface, the very tedious & time consuming masking process begins. I use liquid latex and love it way more than wax.

Favorite studio addition is this greenhouse! Slowly drying pots without all the plastic. I unzip when I'm working in the studio and zip up when I leave.
If things are drying too fast, I just spray a bunch of water on the inside and close it up.

It has taken many years of practice and patience🙃 My absolute favorite beginner tool for getting things to match is the shrink ruler. It's double-sided and has the most common shrink rates of clay. I now use a throwing gauge on my wheel.
