I’m actually enjoying Star Trek: Starfleet Academy so far.

Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti are giving good performances, the callbacks to the history of the franchise is nice (it’s great to see Prodigy get some attention) but is not all nostalgia berries and shows us something we haven’t seen

Give The Sweet Hereafter a shot, one of the best Canadian films ever made, Egoyan was nominated for two Oscar’s for it!

Huge fan of Atom Egoyan, and I really liked this one!

Kid free weekend of Star Trek, Terminator, and replaying Bioshock Infinite.

Also attempted to bake bread, didn’t exactly work the way I hoped but it still tastes like food and works with butter and jam, so that’s the important part

I’ve been rewatching Deep Space Nine and the first couple seasons are actually stronger than I remembered, maybe they were ahead of the time with its storytelling.

I also liked that in Armageddon Factor, Sisko trusts Kiekos judgement on the video based on how well she knows her husband

Update: that didn’t happen.

Early Saturday morning she was having breathing issues so they did a couple tests that they are waiting for the results on. I saw her for a bit and she was very tired. I’m going to visit her again tomorrow

After nearly three months in the hospital, my grandmother actually got better from being in palliative care and is being released! It’s been a crazy journey, I’ve said goodbye to her twice thinking it would be the end, and tomorrow I get to drive her home

Although I totally missed out on this, fuck those “friends” who put them above what was going on with you and 14 yo. You’re awesome!

I honestly expected Tron: Ares to be crap, but I was wrong! The trailers didn’t do this movie justice because it rocked. Surprisingly good story, great effects, and I really enjoyed the IMAX scenes opening up (watched it on Disney plus). It was so good I’m buying it tomorrow

For some reason I remembered the first couple seasons being mediocre, but I haven’t been disappointed yet

…plus Richard Beymer and Frank Langella knock it out of the park as guest stars (although I wish they didn’t kill Ali Nalas, he would have been a great recurring character), and I completely forgot how vile Kai Winn is right from the beginning.

I’ve been rewatching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine for the first time in probably 20 years, and holy crap season 2 starts off with an incredible 3 parter. The whole circle storyline is really good (minus when Odo transforms into a rope trap), full of suspense, action, pretty solid directing…

5. I think I’ll make it my New Year’s resolution to be on here more. Happy holidays everyone!

4. I got one thing for me this year, I couldn’t afford anything else snd wanted to make sure the kids got the best Christmas they could, which I think I succeeded in.

3 . My neighbour did me a solid since this was the first year my kids had two houses for Christmas and I had them Christmas Eve, they printed this out for me and blew my daughters mind (early presents from Santa)

2. Got dumped December 1st, which I honestly didn’t see coming and it sucked for a few days but I’m over it.

1. My grandmothers still in the hospital but alive , which I’m sure is where my daughter gets her stubbornness from. She’s doing a little better, I visited her today for Christmas and it was nice to get her out of her bed and go around the halls.
