It took this one a while to recover from reporting and a rather aggressive trellis experience but look at all the new growth! Stunning sunstress too. Hoya collina IR26

I have too many hobbies but this page is dedicated to the plant collection one and occasionally the illustration one.

22.01.2026 19:15 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0βAI is clearly sticking around so you have to get used to itβ wrong. I donβt have to get used to shit. I am a practiced hater and I can keep this going for decades if I am required to
01.12.2025 23:29 β π 23435 π 9536 π¬ 197 π 294The left one is sunburned from growing in a cloche with grow lights about 15 inches away. It threw the newest leaf this month while in my cabinet (first photo, it's a warm golden green). I haven't seen it make this beautiful emergent color before, it's clearly happy in there!
10.12.2025 23:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Philodendron fuzzy petiole. I'm finding that this one does not thrive in ambient conditions and is prone to pests. I removed every leaf and chopped it up last winter. Right is the bottom cut, grown in ambient, left is top and midcut propped in a cloche and growing in constant 70+ humidity.

A. wendlingeri, with the newest leaf looking gorgeous. It had a lot of shopping damage but is otherwise robust
H. stenophyla. I saw this plant cranking out leaves in the shop for weeeeeeks before purchasing and I'm in love with how weird and stringy it is

noticed it was up on the website so here is my full spread for Jacob Geller's new book

Acryla gouache on haunted paper
Gasteria gracilis variegata with some water stains and a bit of a sunburn. I think gasteria were one of my first obsessions when I first got into plant collecting. I have a couple varieties but not enough space to grow as many as catch my eye.
25.09.2025 01:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I honestly think it got shaded out by the other stuff, and I had a slug problem for a while that damaged the stem. I will definitely try again next time my local plant store has macodes
16.09.2025 04:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This terrarium is very dense these days. One of the jewel orchids in here perished but the other 2 are fine. The labisia is going crazy. A tiny begonia is blooming and the philo brandtiatum that I chucked in to salvage keeps putting out monster leaves. I will probably have to remove it
15.09.2025 17:54 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Another round of blooms from my h. krohniana silver (it's lost the silver and is barely splashy but looks distinct from my krohniana black leaf, with whom it shares a pot.)
15.09.2025 17:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My new cabinet is set up, I need to get some pegboards to hang mini orchids, finish sealing the door, and figure out some cable management!!
06.09.2025 23:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hoya icensis. She's finally sizing up and getting that pretty black margin after months of slow growth. I think the roots finally started filling up the container - I got this plant as a 1 node prop with good roots and the very bottom of a long stem so I had to pot it up bigger than normal.
03.09.2025 19:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I got bit by the syngonium bug recently. So far my collection consists of a large and a small milk confetti, white butterfly, holly, albo, mojito, and chiapense "frosted heart". I think I'll get a dark one next to balance all the white and pink
06.08.2025 17:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0After many hot dry weeks, we finally got some rain today so I let the pings out for a shower.
06.08.2025 17:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Restrepia augustilabia blooming in my terrarium. I'm really excited to see this bloom, when I bought it I half expected her to barely survive but I've been proven wrong! Love the super long petals and the freckles
19.06.2025 20:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Appreciation for H. sigillatis. Rosy toned leaves and lots of splash make this one a favorite in my collection.
26.05.2025 00:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0More hoyas off the shelf for round one of sulfur treatment. H. icensis and eliptica, neither of which have put out much new growth in my care, presumably due to flat mites. Icensis is supposed to make big huge leaves so I'm hoping that the sulfur takes care of the mites.
26.05.2025 00:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I haven't pulled my Hoya pubicalyx off the shelf in a while. These leaves are amazing, and a testament to the shade tolerance of this species. It's in a shaded west facing window with relatively dim grow lights about 2 feet above it, and put out these giant leaves earlier in the spring.

11.05.2025 20:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hoya krohniana blooms! It's the last surviving piece of a super silver but it has minimal splash and cool dark edges from being close to my grow lights. It shares a pot with my H. krohniana "black leaf" which bloomed last year
11.05.2025 20:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My Hoya thompsonii is finally cozy enough in her pot to make some new incredibly hairy leaves π¨
09.05.2025 20:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have 2 flame violets (Episcia) and both are blooming!! I love the jagged edges on the dark-leaved one. What a cool genus, I would love to collect more of these

New to the garden: an absolutely stunning overgrown terrarium purchased for a steal from a very kind hobbyist downsizing his collection. I'm still finding new plants in here while I slowly chip away at pruning it, adding microfauna, and getting it ready for its next resident, my wife's gecko!
14.03.2025 04:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Natural sunlight on the Hoya shelf. There's a very brief time of year where the sun falls through a west facing window below a cedar canopy to illuminate my shelves for an hour or so, and it's rare that there are no rain clouds π¦οΈ
14.02.2025 21:16 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0digital drawing of a griffin in a bordered square. the griffin is a graphical representation instead of realistic, and it stands facing left with wings and one clawed hand raised. The head has a simple, conical shape to represent the beak, as well as two long, pointed ears. The feathers in the wings and tail are disconnected from one another to represent the shape. The background border is mostly symmetrical, featuring a diamond shape in each corner, as well as a messy spark shape on each inner corner. In the larger rectangular pieces are diagonal lines framing the griffin. Overall, there are a lot of bright colors.
