Sometimes being an overqualified library clerk in a school where the "librarian" has no relevant education hurts. Like during today's lesson on Boolean operators (which she had never heard of.) 📚

Librarian here. We grant library cards to ALL residents, no matter their age or legal status. Our ID requirements pertain to establishing residency only. Do not invoke libraries, which embrace *everyone* in its civic fold, as a precedent for measures designed to *suppress* civic participation.

Because we've been doing this for awhile and there are still a few parts of my brain that aren't functional.

In the early 90s when I was 14 there were multiple 20 year old men coming around who were interested in me and my parents thought it was totally normal.

as we reckon with a culture and a politics that subordinates and abuses children, we should look everywhere we can for examples of public institutions that respect the autonomy and dignity of children, and fight like hell to protect them.

In my conversations with others, and specifically in regards to teachers and parents, ABOLISH ICE is like, um, moderate. The much more common vernacular is "FUCK ICE".

With all due respect, this is going to be a non-negotiable issue for a lot of people moving forward. If I'm wrong, well, I'm not.

I have one I got out of a dumpster and it's doing just fine.
