My understanding is that not everyone should do research, but that you should generally try to do regular research, right?
The fact that everyone does research also seems rather unrealistic to me. π€·

I would say βhopefully you have the chance to travelβ, but a contract extension is of course also good. π

My excuse is that our process, the corporate and decision-making culture does not currently provide for this.π«€
But I'm working on changing that. I hope to be able to answer βyesβ soon (by the end of Q2/2025).
Unnecessary actionism that leads to strategically wrong decisions.

I will be taking part for the first time. I'm very excited.

It was all too much for me somehow.
I then took a step back and concentrated on understanding the basics. That's enough for me for now.
The biggest problems lie in work structures anyway and are not solved by AI.
Read this article from Bas Dijkstra some days ago ..

I've been a developer for about 17 years and now a product owner. And I think I benefit a lot from understanding how certain things work under the hood.

Fortunately, I noticed it before it went to the customer.
Ouh, I just read @stephaniewalter.bsky.social's newsletter and she links to Rosie's article too. π
But she provides much more information. Thanks a lot.

Are you into user research? How do you recruit your users?
Rosie Hoggmascall shares an awesome list of top class user research recruitment emails.

So, obviously .. it depends. π
"By carefully using AI as a collaborative tool, avoiding making everything too similar, and keeping focus on human-centred design, we can use AI to improve our work."
As POs, we often have to deal with situations where things don't go as expected.
Stay positive, run another experiment, try oout another idea, change something that didn't go well. Evolve.
Stay positive. π
In his latest post @poczwardowski.bsky.social shared a readworthy article about the superpower of being/staying positive.
"Being able to remain calm and optimistic in difficult moments when you would rather disappear is a superpower."

I think SEO learned to market itself in the last two decades, because managers love KPI that SEO can provide .. or seems to provide. π
UX is some time behind.
A big challenge for UX. But if you can improve both .. UX and SEO? Why not? π
Thanks for sharing. This is really cool.

Integrating SEO into product management can give a real boost to UX, simply because this is also becoming increasingly important for SEO.
At least that's my impression. I'm not an expert either.
"You don't need an overly detailed project plan or a detailed roadmap to control the output. You need a shared understanding of what we want to achieve together."
In short: outcome > output
I paid attention to this in a conversation yesterday. Even if you really mean well, I think you quickly and sometimes unintentionally slip into mentorship.
Super interesting. I'll keep an eye on that. π
Thanks for sharing.
I love this illustration by booking, that is an extension of the work of the UK's ministry of Justice, which extends the Microsoft Inclusive Design tool kit.

Has anyone had any experience with this kit for creating orienteering maps?
Looks really cool.

I've never thought about it (regardless of gender). But I'm also more of a sponsor by nature, I think. I hope so. π
Thanks for the food for thought.
In the comments I found this quote from JC.
"People need to remember that AI is not the only way to solve a problem, itβs not even the best way half the time."
I agree with that.
Maybe an unpopular opinion? Bas Dijkstra sums up why he is tired of #AI.
A good read that make you think.
So, what do you think? Are we heading in the right direction?

Every company can transform itself, but of course you are absolutely right. π
The larger a company and the more ingrained traditional roadmaps and project plans are, the more difficult it is to introduce outcome-based roadmaps.
