How to report ICE or Police Activity to Unión Migrante. EXACT DATE AND TIME: Share the date and the time, for example, Wednesday, May 1st at 5pm. We don't want to retraumatize the community in vain, or for fear to persist after ICE or police activity is no longer a threat, which doesn't help anyone. EXACT LOCATION: An address, a location shared by phone, a screenshot of a map, the name of two cross streets, the more specific the better. We don't want to say "the Best Buy on Veterans" because there are several - which one should people avoid? DESCRIPTION OF WHAT OCCURRED: What did you see? How many officers? How were they dressed? How many officers cars? What did their vehicles look like? Take photos or videos if possible. Detailed information helps us to identify agencies and analyse the real level of risk, and to learn together to prevent false alarms. EYE WITNESS: Unión Migrante shares information using the word INVESTIVANGO until we're able to confirm with videos or photos or speaking with an eye witness that ICE or police activity actually is occurring. Once we've been able to confirm that a real risk is present, we will use the word CONFIRMADO. We demand to speak with eye witnesses directly - not with third parties. True information is power. We only share verified information - not rumors. Sharing unconfirmed rumors only causes panic, retraumatizes people for nothing, and hurts nearby businesses. Send us a direct message on social media to report any possible ICE or police activity. Film with your cell phone from a safe distance.
