Really extraordinary to see so many Welsh MPs publicly undermine their own party’s electorally-successful electoral platform so nonchalantly and with such disregard.

Few things suggest major campaign issues like a political party talking out of both sides of its mouth at the same time.

Listening back to last week's episode of Gwleidydda on the potential impact of Reform on next year's Senedd election. Its worth looking at the where those 2019 Labour voters went last year

🟒 20% went to PC and the Greens

❌ 7% didn't vote

🟦 less than 7% went to Reform

Wales is shortchanged again Plus an interview with Iolo Williams and how Welsh Labour plan to take on Reform

I've looked through some funding data and in seems that Wales is being shortchanged in more ways than we thought.

Fyi anyone in Wales thinking of supporting reform, they are led by people who really don't care about you, your problems, Wales, etc and lack the integrity to address the challenges we face honestly. They prefer to offer simple solutions they could never deliver. They just mfg outrage and division

REQUEST FOR HELP THREAD.

Since I became a journalist I've been struck by how accepting people are with the issues/challenges Wales has (when they know about them at all).

That's why I am really excited to say I am currently working on a new book with Y Lolfa called: Who Cares About Wales?

Still quite striking that George W Bush, whose presidency ended 16 years ago, and Bill Clinton, whose presidency ended 24 years ago, are both younger than Donald Trump, who's about to be sworn in for a second term.

As a neuroscience doctor and author of bestselling science books who still experiences having my intellect dismissed up-front because of my accent, I can confirm that the "Welsh = disarmingly dumb" stereotype is alive and well.

Having it further boosted in the mainstream is just lovely, thanks.

Why's that? There's plenty of businesses on Anglesey and they could always do with more. I get that in depends exactly what you want to do but that's the same everywhere (even in Australia). I think this idea you need to leave Wales in general if you want to succeed holds us back.

I get a bit annoyed with this argument that you can't be ambitious in Wales. Why not? People moan about the lack of private sector jobs, but the whole point should be if you are ambitious do it yourself, set up a business. It's a bit ironic to moan that no one has provided one for you!

I lived in Australia for 6 years and it's a great country but it's not vastly different to Wales (apart from in scale). It has it's own problems. You earn more there but it's also far more expensive. I have some sympathy with the arguments in the piece, but agree with Lee here.

Thank God Starmer is prime minister. Imagine if we had someone in that position desperately doing whatever Musk wanted, as Badenoch evidently would. This moment would amount the complete subordination of Britain to a foreign tech billionaire.

A lot of Welsh politics in 2025 will be concerned with the looming election in 2026.

Labour MS Lee Waters warns in his blog of his party facing a potential 'Scottish' moment, and suggests the UK government need to help the Welsh government out

Fears of unrest as PM considers open prisons for more offenders Unions concerned about potential rise in violence, drug abuse and the threat of riots at low-security facilities in England and Wales

Mad that Welsh Govt would have to deal with all the consequences of worst case scenarios here but has no say in the decision itself.

Justice in Wales should be responsibility of Welsh Gov, as it is in Scotland, NI, & England/UK:
