Lived religion basically never stays within the bounds of codified doctrine, and folks would do well to keep that in mind when they offer their commentary on current events

I had the opportunity to review the new album by Irish artist CMAT for @popmatters.com. It's catchy, compelling, and a standout musical exploration of millennial femalehood in late-capitalist Western culture.

I think an issue ignored in much of this discourse is *what* the other side is voting for (given what all they have seen) & the idea that some (swing?) voters will support authoritarianism
or refuse to oppose it because of issues with language. It feels like an abdication of responsibility.

U.S. Girls Merge the Geography of Sound and Soul Β» PopMatters On Scratch It, U.S. Girls experiment with the sonic topography of Nashville to further explore the emotional landscape of vulnerability and materiality.

I recently got to review 'Scratch It', the latest album from Meg Remy's art pop project, U.S. Girls for @popmatters.com. It experiments with the sonic topography of Nashville to further explore the emotional landscape of vulnerability and materiality.

In My Room is just a gorgeous song tapping into the human need for sanctuary and grounding in a world of anxiety and vulnerability. Brian is foreshadowing the themes of Pet Sounds during the height of their surf music.
