Stanford Reservoir - having given me the run around for a min of 3 weeks, ring details finally obtained on this Great Egret on Sunday as AJU. Ringed Shapwick Heath on April 18th - also seen Warwicks, Lancs &
Telford. Our second colour ringed Great Egret. @lrosbirds.bsky.social
1st. Winter female Northern Parula. πΈ unknown
Greenish Warbler. πΈ unknown
On this week 40 yrs ago:
Twitched this 1st win. Fem. Northern Parula at Hengistbury Head.
Also lucked in to this Greenish Warbler, though we all went away, happy we had ticked Arctic Warbler, till it was trapped the next day. Egg. On. Face. But it was still a tick.
Feels slightly unreal being back on Scilly after 22 years. Saw the Wilson's Phalarope and Rosy Starling, but it was Cetti's Warbler and Cattle Egret that were Scilly ticks! #ukbirding
01.10.2025 18:22 β π 48 π 1 π¬ 4 π 1Bird of the year as far as I'm concerned! Was in the right place at the right time to connect with this 1st winter male Siberian Thrush at Scalloway. My 340th species of the year in the UK, it showed better than this image suggests #BirdingScotland #ukbirding

Slavonian Grebe this AM, the 1st since 2003. Garganey, BN Grebe & Bittern the supporting cast.

Swainson's Thrush at Cuithir this morning, a well deserved find by Stuart Beeby, incredibly the 4th Barra record, making it our second most frequent North American vagrant passerine. #BirdingScotland #RareBirdsUK

Stanford Reservoir - another cracking species delivered by the efforts of the ringing group this AM with this smart Wood Warbler. Only the 5th site record - birds ringed in 1977 & 1982 with 2 other non ringing group records in 1999 & 2020. Great work by the team & well deserved.
