A German Shepherd sitting beside a desk and looking sweetly at the camera. He has a bit of white around his muzzle.
I basically get the same guilt trip every time I have something nice to eat.

Forgot to post it the other night because I was tired and headachey, but just before I went to sleep, I decided to open up Pokemon GO to see what was around and I got a shiny I've been wanting for ages π
21.02.2026 23:50 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Dad took Rosco to the bakery again this morning. In addition to his usual party pie and the foam from Dad's cappuccino, the lady working there brought out a frothaccino (literally just a cup of coffee foam) specifically for the dog haha
21.02.2026 23:02 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I need to give these a go. I still have some leftover cornmeal from when I made cornbread a few weeks back and had no idea what to do with it

21.02.2026 09:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You ever do that thing where someone asks you a question and you get yourself into trouble because you foolishly thought that the fact they were even asking the question meant they wanted an honest answer?

21.02.2026 04:45 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In a similar vein, I watch those Air Crash Investigation shows, and so many of them are basically "The airline company cut corners to save a few dollars so hundreds of people died due to a) the failure of a single part that should have been replaced two years earlier, or
b) overworked pilot fatigue"
A German shepherd sitting with a bowl of freshly picked silverbeet, a bowl of tomatoes, a punnet of strawberries and a beetroot.
A bountiful harvest with my Gardenhound today. Lots of tomatoes and a few nice strawberries, a shitload of silverbeet and my first beetroot! Also a few yellow beans buried somewhere under the silverbeet.

My Ebb Tide rose has put out a bloom bonanza. I just wish the camera showed their colours better; theyβre a deeper purple and less pinkish than they look in this photo.

20.02.2026 08:24 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm glad I can just buy it outright instead of having to have a subscription to 'borrow' it. I wish the Zelda Oracle games had been given the same treatment. I had the original Game Boy ones and bought them again on 3DS but I would absolutely triple dip on those.

20.02.2026 06:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I quite like silverbeet so Iβm not too bothered, though it is further proof that if you plant silverbeet one year, youβll grow it again every yearβ¦ whether you want to or not π

Some of what I thought were beetroots growing in my raised garden bed among the carrots were in fact silverbeet; theyβve likely come up from old soil that was left in there from last year before we topped it up with potting mix at the start of this season.
20.02.2026 05:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0When we still had Rex (our previous German Shepherd) I got home from uni one day while my parents were overseas and couldn't find Rosco. 17.02.2026 03:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I went into the kitchen to get a cup of tea just now, and there was a curled up dead huntsman on the floor. So I got some paper towel to pick him up and put him in the bin...
AND THE BASTARD WAS STILL ALIVE
Yeah, it turned out Kaspersky was the problem. I added the Slack workspace URLs to its trusted URLs section and now it works fine. Seems an odd thing for them to block though (I've never had any issues with that AV previously).
17.02.2026 01:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I assume it's a loss prevention thing and fair enough if they want to watch people to deter stealing but they could be far less obnoxious about it. A few timesI've actually got so annoyed with their harassment I've walked out without buying whatever it was I went in to buy.
17.02.2026 01:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think the ones who annoy me the most are the ones who constantly hover right behind you asking if you need help and making suggestions about whatever you're looking at, and refuse to leave you alone when you say "I just want to look for now, if I need help I'll come and find you."
