He’s so good! He’s really able to show just how out of touch a lot of these politicians are, he absolutely embarrasses them.

If you think DS9, VOY and ENT received completely rational and levelheaded reactions, then you were so sheltered from the reality of what has happened multiple times in this fandom.

You even had Terry Matalas talk about this when PIC S3 was on, someone who actually worked on Trek in the past.

I’m watching history repeat itself AGAIN, I’ve watched people remove themselves from these spaces because of the hatred they’ve received just for liking a television show.

It’s well known that this behaviour has happened before. Do better.

I don’t care if people don’t like the same shows I like, but burying your head in the sand and blaming a few YouTubers is frankly ridiculous and offensive to the lived experiences of fans within this franchise.

Ignoring the very real history of this fandom is frankly ridiculous too.

Watching people who worked on Lower Decks make comments about Academy in that same vein has me doing some side-eyeing.

I have never seen any of the original trilogy in the cinema, so I will absolutely be seated for this!

The greatest thing to ever happen to Doctor Who was the decision to bring Tom Baker back as the Curator, not specifically because it was Tom, but the way it busts the canon wide open to allow even crazier returns like this. Annoyed they didn’t roll harder, sooner with it, frankly

Especially when a lot of those critiques are things that other Star Trek shows have also done in the past.

Discovery fans will never think the show is perfect, just like no other Star Trek show is perfect. But it’s going to rub people the wrong way if they’re dealing with a constant barrage of hate and then people come along and just say, “but I want to critique this show!”
