When I was an ongoing NetflixDVD user I had one of those $20 cd/dvd scratch remover / polisher gadgets and it dealt with a lot of marginal cases. Some were too bad to rectify but most worked out, at least for use in my DVD ripper.

I think there may be “cooldown” durations on some of these sorts of deals. When Netflix’s right to show the Daredevil/JessicaJones/etc stuff ended there was a period of time before it showed up on Disney+. If I had to bet I’d expect nuWho to show up on Disney in September.

I think Geoff is a little quick to call it “ostracizing” other academics. I don’t have to ostracize my former colleagues at George Mason if the uni starts capitulating to this administration. I can still communicate/“network”(barf) with them, read their writings, etc, WITHOUT attending events there.
