The rejection of Mormonism by the evangelical right is very loud right now. Wish members and leadership would wake up to it.

I know conservative members feel strongly about their concerns with the world, so trying to be mindful of their feelings or perspectives.

But I have such a hard time with the fact that our belief system and history is so relevant to this moment but it doesn’t matter one bit.

Maybe if our church had some of that, we’d be more built to help in this moment. Too bad our church is about being counted by the world as Christians.

- that if the us constitution is to be saved, it will be the priesthood that does it
- a deep mistrust of a federal government led by a bully who send occupying troops into cities as a sign of intimation
- a deep belief in courts and judges being a better way for government to work

- choosing the right and listening to that small voice even when people around you tell you that right is wrong
- believing that god wants to gather all his children in one land, regardless of skin color
- rejecting governments who try to force a way of life on a people through force

- a direct religious reverence for god’s hand in creating the constitution
- allowing people to practice sexuality regardless of societal norms or acceptance
- fleeing persecution and poverty to come to a promised land while still celebrating the heritage of their homeland

If only our church had doctrine or history related to:

- laying down arms even when it made people less safe
- a conspiracy to install a king into a democratic system with the support of the people
- the importance of protecting groups from being hunted and expelled from their homes

I’m a big fan of Nelson’s early work. His recent stuff, not so much.

One thing that sucks about not being able to trust news and the government agencies to tell the truth is I am much much more susceptible to conspiracy.

Could just as easily read: new CEO controls the most massive private religious wealth in the world.

I don’t like to believe in grand conspiracies, but it does strike me as they are looking to cause as much damage to the country as possible. Like, what else would they be doing to erode our position in the world while staying in power. Feels purposeful.

No, we followed the research coming out about it, and then just asked our doctor to try it. Since it’s already very well understood and tolerated as a drug, there is no harm in using it.

Here is what sucks about RFK. Even when he does a good thing, it’s usually tied to something horrifying.

Like…whole milk back in schools: good! But it’s so clearly tied to the raw milk thing.

So…Leucovorin for autistic kids: great! But it’s so clearly tied to the anti-vaccine thing.

My daughter is autistic she has been on Leucovorin for 4 months. We have seen great improvement in her overall speech and complex communications.

Important to note tho:
- early in the research
- not a cure, not preventative
- this research started long before this admin
- dosage matters a lot

But also, the LDS church is out here doing polygamy cartoons for kids, releasing the polygamy revelation it denied existed for a century, and oaks talking about heavenly mothers.

This feels more related to that, IMO.
