A friend of mine printed this. After seeing it, I demanded that he make me one... so he gave me this one and told me he'd print another. It's a train whistle. Only one person I showed understood the joke. I hope the internet at large will not disappoint.

I'm looking forward to tackling the step-up difficulty of Quantum next.

I completed the entirety of the new Deep Dungeon "blind" with a group of friends. It was really fun! Without saying spoilers, I think adding more checkpoints was a good tradeoff for increased boss mechanical complexity. The final boss was especially a real joy to figure out.

OMG. I love this! I've made some summoner books as cosplay props and literally sat them on a shelf just like this. 😂 This is from 2019 though so it's a very cropped and small photo. I would have loved to have your furnishing item ingame. 🥹

Also, I can *hear* songs in my head if I think about them, which makes it way easier to just jump into singing any point a capella.

I remember having a debate with one of my choir conductors in college... he wanted to adjust a song up a half step to prevent the choir from falling flat a capella, and I debated him saying it completely changed how the song felt. Bless him for entertaining me (and may he RIP).

I think it has something to do with how I connect the memory of the song to the physical feeling of singing it... and that sense of connect. I can adjust keys if I have to, and I won't slip out of relative line, but it still feels wrong to me.

I've been wondering if my synesthesia (ND brain) makes me better at singing things perfectly on key from memory without having to hear the pitch first... I don't have "perfect pitch" (my ability to identify notes/chords by sound isn't perfect), but songs are perfectly preserved.

Needing to formally apply to statics full of strangers for the first time in my 15+ years of playing FFXIV has been stressing me out hard. It's been looming over me since my static decided to disband.

Took this picture today after seeing a screenshot of someone calling someone else a "rainbow hair woke bitch" in an online chat. Then I thought... Wait... *I* am a rainbow hair woke bitch. 🤷 But I'm also old, tired and don't engage with rage bait.

They've been targeting you, Kate and (to a lesser extent) another SE employee who reposted something about the MN attacks on FB. In addition to the big names you mentioned, there's also some puppet account that has been posting AI slop on YT for months propping this up.

I want to believe we're better than what the internet has become, anyway...

So, I admit this is larger than me; it is a machine that can't be stopped. But it's so, so depressing. Please be more critical of everything you read, whether or not it backs up your personal point of view. We're better than what the internet has become.

It is utterly exhausting, and I really don't have it in me to attempt to "correct the record" with things because it will make enemies out of anyone you correct OR their followers, even if your goal is purely to keep things clear and to reality (not partisan).

If the events over the past few days have taught me anything... it's that there's such an overwhelming amount of misinformation, rage baiting, bad-faith quotations and villainization (on all sides of disagreements) that I really just don't know if social media is for me anymore.

Okay, first: murder is never, ever okay, under any circumstances. I don't condone it.

Second: I'm really REALLY uncomfortable with how the aftermath is playing out. The division is really starting to scare me.

I really hope the students who witnessed that are being provided with mental health assistance/counseling or some sort of trauma therapy through the school where it happened. That's something that stays with you.
