LARP is akin to live theatre, except there is no audience and everyone involved is part of the cast. Each of the participants dress as their character and the outcome of the story is determined by their actions. There is no script, but a story told by participants through their character’s actions.

It is a short walk from the main carpark to the Castle. Participants may wish to bring comfortable shoes for the walk.

There is a disabled carpark close to the courtyard (entrance via a single-track road from the village). The Castle has full disabled access, with a disabled toilet.

The location for As Night Falls: The Auction is Elvaston Castle lll, located just a few miles outside Derby, in the village of Elvaston.

Derby is one of the most central cities in England. There are extensive public transport links, with bus and railway stations, as well as East Midlands Airport.

First built in the 16th century, Elvaston Castle was later extended in a grand Gothic Revival style 200-years later with a new wing and great hall.

The most famous resident was the fourth Earl of Harrington, who caused controversy when he married the much younger actress Maria Foote.
