I have particular ire for those who take a sentence that starts with a cap, then lowercase & bracket it when the cap SHOULD be there at the beginning of a quoted sentence.

I disagree. As the birth rate falls, smaller households end up living in units that used to house larger families. The growth in square footage per person is faster than any decline in population/demand.
08.07.2025 15:24 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I'm having enormous difficulty trying to buy NY Liberty tickets online. One curious thing is that for *the exact same set of four tickets*, being sold for $121 each, the fee that Ticketmaster charges on top of that has varied, within a couple of hours, between $91 and $111.
06.07.2025 22:29 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I guess my question is: Was the ID/OK British magazine thing deliberate misdirection or was it inadvertent
05.07.2025 11:52 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0So then you need to work out which of the five IDs can also be OK. And I think there are two acceptable answers to that question.
05.07.2025 09:54 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0If there wasnโt a British magazine called i-D (famously recently acquired by Karlie Kloss) then this would have been one of those cheap-theme puzzles. Having 5 different IDs made it a notch harder.

05.07.2025 09:50 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Hereโs my suggested alternative solution:
Yellows are the ID group: Idaho, driver license, Freudian concept, British magazine.
And then purples are the OK group: Oklahoma, mediocre, recognize, greenlight.
Can we talk about yesterdayโs Connections? I think there were two acceptable solutions.

You can solve the housing crisis by building more, or you can try to solve it by shrinking the population. The latter solution is disastrous for tax revenues and the city budget, no mayor would ever want it.
First-round votes for Eric Adams in 2021: 289,403
First-round votes for Zohran Mamdani in 2025: 432,305
1) The NYC mayor has zero control over immigration
2) Immigrants comprise most of the NYC construction labor force

29.06.2025 08:35 โ ๐ 17 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0Feels like ranked choice was absolutely decisive in this raceโnot because of the vote count, but because of how it changed the incentives from zero-sum to cooperapetitive.
