Condolences to Sean and family, and hoping your mom is doing better.

Great video on Calimala. I found the worker placement interesting, especially getting the benefits when your worker is lower in the stack if its your color, as well as how the scoring tiles get assigned.

Hansa Teutonica has my favorite β€œI get a good benefit when you bump me” mechanism.

The character tile holder looks handy though.

Super Box?!?! I’m curious how that differs from the base game.

In 2021 I was lucky enough to get a ding and dent copy from FunAgain for around $15 and the components were undamaged. Great game!

Depends whether I punched the cardboard or not. If not those sheets usually go in the box below the insert. If punched then stored in bags and kept in the box or stored in a bin (e.g., Scythe coins stored in a bin).

I still have yet to play my copy. Curious how you liked the knock offs and how much easier those are?

Yikes, that is brutal (for context, I live in Houston and mow my own yard) heat. Kudos for another successful event despite the heat.

At this price it is worth getting for the updated cards and character boards (e.g., Prince John’s win condition is now better balanced).

I really enjoy Diablo III but Diablo II still is my favorite due to so many hours spent playing with my friends in Michigan at LAN parties.

If you were still with Underdog,
maybe you could’ve created an expansion using the Time moniker where you could travel to the distant past or future beyond the base game timelines, which could allow for new mechanisms and freedom to create fictional events.

Forgot to mention I read the article a few months ago and enjoyed it. As a big TtR fan the recommendations were interesting, and I’m still bummed Thurn & Taxis is unlikely to be preprinted.

Curious if you’ve tried yet tried Station to Station. I’ve only seen a Dice Tower overview and it might fit the list.

FWIW, I prefer History over Time for the title since we travel back to impactful historical events. Someone like my daughter, who is a casual gamer but also a fan of history, is more likely to buy TtH over TtT based on the title alone.

Side note: hope you’re fairing well since your May impact

I don’t feel qualified to weigh in on a funny response. I’m only commenting to say that you have my respect and appreciation for putting yourselves out there knowing you’ll get hate. Thanks for taking risks so people like me can enjoy content that makes us happy.

@kleary.bsky.social and I had a great time at Emerald Tavern & Games in Austin. Very good food & cocktails/beer, plus solid selection in their games library. They also have a huge Mimic on the front patio. Wish we had a similar place near us in Houston. #boardgames

Big Sur Travel along the Pacific Coast Highway checking out the scenery and landmarks.

My wife won our first game of Big Sur 66-58. @25thcentury.games published another fun game with simple mechanisms paired with interesting choices (I’m a sucker for multi-use cards). #boardgames

What other game’s box size would you say is similar to this version? We have the Big Box but rarely play with modules, and the F&F version has several good modules.

You’ve got me beat by decades. My game of shame is Anno 1800. I dread thinking about convincing my wife it isn’t as complicated as it looks, but I know we would both enjoy it. Also think it would be best with three players and that is another challenge.

Allegedly the interior dimensions of a Kallax shelf are 13.25” or 33.5cm (for both width and height) & depth is 15.375” or 39cm

11.07.2025 21:34 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

If their dimensions pic is accurate then the Kallax pic is pretty spot on. Unrelated: if I had not put my Arkham Horror LCG cards in binders I’d jump at this since it would take less Kallax space.

Bummer that Amazon pics use the early printing with Amabel’s dead name as designer (same with Iberian Gauge). Both are games are solid cube rails!

So Flip 7was likely inspired by Pairs, but Flip 7 goes to 12 (one better than Nigel Tufnel’s amp) and adds in special cards?

Good twist on a 2-player lane battler with artwork that brings back memories of games from the 60s/70s my parents owned. $20 is a steal given gameplay and component quality, and the insert is typical Keymaster top-notch stuff.
