While Atlantic salmon are still present in Britain, their numbers are dropping rapidly. To reverse this decline, rewilding efforts are crucial. Removing barriers can reopen important spawning and feeding grounds.

As both predator and prey, Atlantic salmon are vital in maintaining the balance of freshwater and marine ecosystems. Their epic migrations between ocean and river systems help circulate nutrients, enriching the freshwater habitats where they spawn.

Weβre calling for bold, systemic change β to protect people, wildlife and the wild places we all depend on.
π Letβs stop the sewage.
π± Letβs rewild our rivers.
π Letβs build a system that puts nature and people first.
From poisoned rivers to sick wildlife and communities left to swim in pollution β our waters are paying the price for a system built on private profit.
Now, the government has a once-in-a-generation chance to turn things around.

So far weβve supported 68 projects β from white-tailed eagle feasibility studies to beaver-created wetlands and coastal regeneration.
π Projects must be in Britain, cover 40+ hectares, and be (or join) the Rewilding Network.
This Fund is here to help rewilders across Britain overcome challenges and turn ambitious ideas into reality. Whether you're conducting a feasibility study, testing new technologies or scaling up as a landowner group, you could receive up to Β£15,000 in support.

Letβs make this the decade of bold climate action and thriving nature. π±
14.07.2025 12:02 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0By restoring nature across 30% of our land, we could capture up to 12% of the UKβs greenhouse gas emissions. Nature wants to help, we just have to give it space to thrive.
14.07.2025 12:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Letβs not forget that nature is our best ally in the climate crisis. Rewilding can help Britain store millions of tonnes of carbon, from restoring peatlands to reviving saltmarshes and native woodlands.
