Last nights Spooky viewing was It: Welcome to Derry. I’m a HUGE fan of King, that book in particular and both the old mini series and recent update. I have a lot of questions about episode one, but I’m going to stick with it to see where it goes. Tonight—gonna watch Monster Squad

Dance 2Night: ugh more JT. Though not as heavily featured. I can’t wait to move on from this album. I could possibly like this track a little more if he wasn’t involved.

Beat Goes On: Kanye 😒 I think I’ve probably listened to this song once and was immediately like nope. And not only because of him—I was never a fan. Even just revisiting this last half of Hard Candy is blah.

Other movies that should have “weekends” similar to the Dirty Dancing one: Overboard, Steel Magnolias, Clueless, Grease 2, First Wives Club

Ok back to Madonna! Incredible: the last song I really enjoy in Hard Candy. Those four songs—that’s it. I really did think that she lost me with this one and I’d never much felt that way in any prior album. Seeing the tour in Philly with @nardo.bsky.social was helpful in keeping the faith!

Yeah it’s a whole planned weekend! It’s like a Trekkie convention but for Dirty Dancing—lots of options for things to do and see! We just finished the trivia contest (I got 27th out of 132, so not bad. Binned the last ten questions . At one point ranked 7th 😬

When they announced it would be a dance off, I knew I’d clean up into the finals (that and the middle aged white women—so everyone—LOVED me). Ultimately lost to the girl Johnny who came with a large group so she got more cheers to determine the winner.

Mountain Lake Lodge is very old and the jetted two person tub in our room is probably from the 80s and all I can think is “is this the sink?! Am I shrinking?!” If you get this reference, we are friends.

She’s Not Me: probably my favorite on Hard Candy. so I have a weird thing with this song: it was prominently featured in a dream that I remember so well wherein J-lo sought shelter from the paps in my house and we showered together but just as friends. This was the song we played while showering.

Miles Away: top 4 on the album and I enjoy many of the remixes that came out. But it doesn’t sound like the most of the album so maybe that’s why I like it?!!

Kina’s Girl From The Gutter—now that’s a great song and amazing album

Heartbeat: another dud from Hard Candy. And yes I have given the whole album a fresh listen and I do each song prior to updating this list. I just can’t with this album. And after a promising track before this with Give It 2 Me it’s disappointing to be right back in the gutter again.

Post lopsided loss with my injury riddled team, opp team player said “ If I’m still playing at your age, I’d be happy”. My Sally O Malley impression would be totally lost on him so I just said thanks.

Give it 2 Me: this is definitely in my top 4 on Hard Candy but there’s a very clear line between that top 4 and garbage.

About to finish this, and I like it and I know it’s the first of a series but it really did feel like I was dropped in the middle of a world and history that I was expected to know from page one which really threw me off for most of the story💙📚
