AI vs Class of 2029
βIf the AI takeover of higher ed is nearly complete, plenty of professors are oblivious.β Ian Bogost.
Students "wondered why faculty werenβt doing more to adjust teaching practices to match the fundamental changes wrought by new technologies."
Here's my what I'm trying. hartiganj.substack.com/p/ai-vs-clas...

College Students Have Already Changed Forever
Members of the class of 2026 have had access to AI since they were freshmen. Almost all of them are using it to do their work.

Cool! I was just thinking I should start re-reading and posting about other novels by anthropologists, such as those by JosΓ© MarΓa Arguedas, Tahmima Anam, Amitav Ghosh, and Camilla Gibb. I didn't know of the novels by Pym and Carr, thanks for the tip!

Right-Wing Crackdowns Drive Academics Away From UT and the U.S.
Staff morale, federal funds, and state confidence dry up
This is how bad it's getting for academics here in Texas. Weβre being policed by a new state entity, the Office of the Ombudsman, designed to to intimidate faculty. Professors who are accused will have little right to defend themselves.
