I totally agree - I'm in my 60s and am well aware of the Overton window shift during my lifetime. That still doesn't give the national broadcaster the right to blatantly attempt to bring down the elected government.

I said nothing in support of him, except to acknowledge that he has got a few things right. I didn't vote for him. I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of the BBC's egregious on-air right wing bias while stamping on presenters who express left wing views in their own free time.

I quite agree. I oppose Starmer on a lot of things, and I give him credit for the few things he's got right. My beef is with the BBC's political bias.

I'm absolutely not supporting him. I said at the time of the Mandelson appointment, long before the Epstein files were released, that it was a very wrong appointment. But it's possible to oppose both that and BBC political bias.

I wasn't really commenting on how or why Starmer was appointed but on the BBC news journalists unashamedly baying for his blood.

Yes and they got it badly wrong as I said at the time. But put that in the balance with everything this government has got right. And stop the BBC propaganda. Eg a report showing that over 70% of hospital trusts have reduced their waiting lists was spun as doom and gloom for the ones that haven't.

Bad choice of aides. Maybe choose some new ones who are committed to Labour values instead of trying to turn it into Tory-lite. And a BBC that reports the news instead of trying to steer it.

You're assuming he has imploded in office. Sounds as if you've been swallowing BBC Tory propaganda (and please note I'm not a Labour supporter, just disgusted with the blatant political bias of BBC Radio 4).

Gary Lineker and Robin Ince get the boot for expressing allegedly left wing views in their own free time but Nick Robinson and Chris Mason get to use my licence fee to broadcast Tory propaganda? Maybe now McSweeney's gone, Starmer could initiate an inquiry into Tory bias at the Beeb?

The BBC's blatant anti-Labour bias is making it nearly impossible to listen to the Today programme on Radio 4.

Please don't tar us all with that brush. I had free university education & worked v hard all my life. I have a modest roof over my head & no other assets. I've spent most of my life battling for what are supposed to be my disabled daughter's lawful entitlements. I NEVER vote for right wing parties.
