One viewing of the 1997 made for TV version of the short story Trucks which tried to play it straight like the original story and you can see how it just doesn’t work.
As a short story in its own, straight is fine. But on film, your brain won’t resonate with what’s happening.

Maximum Overdrive gets a lot of flak but on repeated watches it’s exactly the kind of ridiculous tongue-in-cheek kind of zany ride that the subject matter needs. (1/3)
