It has obvious benefits! But also some cost to others.

yup! But often hospitals tend to be busier during holidays, and restaurants, leisure places that can pay the 2x pay will also have longer opening hours such that those who are working there might actually find it harder to go vote. It has trade-offs is all I'm trying to say :)

It's definitely good in principle, but in practical it sadly just means that it becomes much harder for essential workers to vote :(

May it always be thus

It is legit a national pride that we make voting as accessible as possible

I voted last week and it took a while, but I love, love, love voting. I always thank the workers at my polling station.
