Die Abbildung zeigt die Entwicklung der Mietkostenbelastung zwischen 1990 und 2020 am obersten und untersten Quintil der Einkommensverteilung. Am oberen Ende der Verteilung blieb die Mietkostenbelastung relativ stabil, am unteren Ende der Verteilung stieg die Belastung an. Bei Zugewanderten mit niedrigen Einkommen war die Steigerung von niedrigem Niveau kommend besonders ausgeprägt.

Extremely honored to have received a DGD award for my MT on “The effect of moving distance on income returns in Germany”. Shout-out to my supervisors Prof. Clara Mulder ( @unigroningen.bsky.social) and Prof. Michael Wagner (University of Cologne), and my current colleagues at the BiB!

Really happy about the great feedback I received for my paper on internal migration and subjective well-being at #YoungDemographers conference in Prague! It has been a great experience, grateful to the organising team!

Do motives of internal migration vary with distance? In a short report based on German panel data we find that this is the case - but that the picture is more complex than you would think 🤔 (report in German, happy to answer questions🤓)
