It was the characters and dialog that made me bounce off it. Immediately insufferable. The parkour was fun though.

This puts into words a lot of thoughts I have on tutorials and game worlds as places to inhabit, rather than tour. I often struggle with some innate desire I have for clear and robust classification clashing with a love of being entirely lost in a strange place - geographically and mechanically.

The first +1 health helps in that you no longer have to wait until you're below half health to gain maximum efficiency from the heal. It's more about giving the player some breathing room for health management, rather than just letting them tank more damage.

So much software I use daily makes me wonder if the devs have ever used it lol. Resolve, Photoshop, Illustrator, Unity. Some of the most bizarre UI/UX decisions I've ever experienced 🫠

Make your game a collection of barely-connected systems. Give every menu entirely unique, cryptic UIs. Have the game force close if the character dies. Randomly delete a system file for every enemy killed. Force the player to shout in to their microphone to heal. Everything is permissible.
