10.07.2025 11:41 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I really miss the old Twitter, for general work chat with people whose views I value and respect.
I don't really do that on Bluesky but maybe I should? Thoughts?
Excellent must-read article by @bankfieldbecky.bsky.social on the disconnect between what politicians believe and what the evidence shows: the majority of people in the UK want positive action from government to stop climate breakdown.

Politicians are retreating from net zero because they think the public doesnβt care. But theyβre wrong, says @bankfieldbecky.bsky.social
- Our research shows people are strongly in favour of measures to tackle the #climatecrisis - they just need to be heard

Is Net Zero a toxic brand? π€β»οΈ
Listen back to BBC Radio 4's Rare Earth on BBC Sounds to hear from a panel of experts including our own Prof Rebecca Willis (@bankfieldbecky.bsky.social) discussing Net Zero and changing public attitudes towards climate change π
had a good time chatting all things net zero on Rare Earth last week - with @drsimevans.carbonbrief.org @tomheap.bsky.social and others. All pretty upbeat...

Come along and/or tell your friends. Brilliant speakers, great chance to meet some amazing people.

massively recommend Steve's briefing on why 'leading by example' on GHG emissions is important
& the list of what leaders (and all of us) can do is v good
Interesting to see very strong cross-party support for "environmentalism" in the UK
The only exception is populist right-wing Reform supporters (who only made up 14% of voters at last election in any case)

27.11.2024 12:54 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Help! New research on people's reactions to demand response/flexibility??
Yesterday I saw something (on here I think) saying that people were more likely to participate in demand response/flexibility services for altruistic reasons, not to save a few pence.
Now I can't find it!
Ideas?
