I find using rain water can cause it as well like you said don’t come to any harm

If you’ve got somewhere under cover Put them in 3” pots use soil or compost just keep them watered and they’ll be fine

The picture is of a sprout plant as you can see it doesn’t look right
I contacted the seed company and after a couple of weeks they didn’t know what was wrong with it
